Bluefin Cruise 15’ Tandem Review

  • GLIDE & SPEED

You can achieve good speed with this board when you are paddling with another person, especially if you remove the two side fins.

  • STABILITY

The high volume of the Bluefin Cruise 15’ that gives it the ability to have a large load capacity helped a lot with its stability. It can withstand even 2 adults and a child while offering very high tilt stability.

  • TRACKING

Due to its length of 15’, it keeps a really good straight line on the water.

  • MANEUVERABILITY

Compared to other boards with similar lengths, the Bluefin Cruise 15’ Tandem is much less manoeuvrable but it remains reasonably well suited for use by one person, especially if he can the kick-pad that turn the board on the spot.

  • PORTABILITY

Due to the total weight of the package which is over 50 lbs, carrying everything inside the backpack is easy only for short distances.

Luckily, the backpack’s built-in wheels let you roll it like a suitcase.

  • EASE OF INFLATION

Inflating the Bluefin Cruise 15’ Tandem takes around 10 minutes using the kit hand pump.

  • ACCESSORIES

The Bluefin Cruise 15’ Tandem comes with everything needed to start having fun on the water.

Starting with the backpack, it features a high-quality finish and comfortably padded straps.

For the hand pump, you get a dual-action single-chamber hand pump that has a built-in pressure gauge and can pump air into the board both when pulling up and when pushing down.

For a board this big, I expect a dual-chamber triple-action hand pump because it is more efficient.

For the kit paddles, you get two ones with lightweight yet durable glass fibre reinforced plastic shafts and plastic blades.

What I liked about the kit paddles is that both paddles can be easily transformed into kayak paddles without any additional purchase.

You also get two kayak seats that can easily attach to their designated and labelled d-rings.

Another accessory that you will get with the Bluefin Cruise 15’ Tandem is a phone dry-bag.

– Heavy

Red Paddle Co 15′ Voyager Tandem MSL Review

  • GLIDE & SPEED

With its profiled nose, the Red Paddle Co 15′ Voyager Tandem MSL is designed for high-speed cruising.

  • STABILITY

This 2-person paddle board is rigid and wide enough to offer plenty of stability even in choppy waters.

  • TRACKING

Keeping a straight line on the water is easy to do due to the board’s extra length and the 9″ fin that reduces the number of times you have to switch sides while paddling.

  • MANEUVERABILITY

Due to how wide this Red Paddle Co 15′ Voyager Tandem MSL is, you can safely manoeuvre around.

When you are in tandem, the board is surprisingly agile if the other paddler counter-steer from the other end.

  • PORTABILITY

Because the package is quite heavy, it is not easy to carry it on your back for long distances.

Luckily, the kit bag has built-in wheels at the bottom to roll it like a suitcase.

  • EASE OF INFLATION

Fully inflating the Red Paddle Co 15′ Voyager Tandem MSL still takes a lot of work in order to get the board to the correct PSI.

A nice feature that this board has is that it has two valves for speedier pumping.

  • ACCESSORIES

The Red Paddle Co 15′ Voyager Tandem MSL comes with everything needed to start having fun on the water, except paddles.

Starting with the backpack, you get a big one that is easier to carry around. It has a roomy 160-litre internal capacity, ergonomic support for your back and shoulders, and wheels for easy rolling like a suitcase.

The included Titan II pump is seriously impressive because it is faster and more efficient, especially compared to single-chamber hand pumps.

Unfortunately, this board does not come with a paddle or two, which lowers the package price and is a great thing if you already have one or planning to buy a premium one.

GILI Meno 11’6 Review

  • GLIDE & SPEED

The GILI Meno 11’6 can be fast fairly easy when one single paddler is on it.

  • STABILITY

When used in tandem, the GILI Meno 11’6 is quite stable despite being so lightweight. It can do well even in light boat chop when two grown adults are on it.

  • TRACKING

Using the 9” distance/race fin, this board tracks very well even in choppy water conditions.

  • MANEUVERABILITY

Using the beginner and intermediate paddling moves, you can fairly easy to move around. This is when a single paddler is on it, when you are in tandem, the manoeuvrability becomes easier when the other paddler counter-steer from the other end.

  • PORTABILITY

Compared to the other boards above, the advantage of this paddle is that it can be carried by even smaller family members because it really feels so light.

The kit bag also has built-in rolling wheels for easy roll using one hand.

  • EASE OF INFLATION

Compare to the other paddle boards above, inflating this board is quicker and easier because the board is smaller and the kit hand pump has two chambers and triple actions.

  • ACCESSORIES

The GILI Meno 11’6 comes with everything needed to start having fun on the water.

Starting with the paddle, you get a carbon hybrid one that has a strong lower attachment point and a top adjustment that do fairly well.

The kit hand pump works fairly well with fairly comfortable grips.

The bag you get is roomy, has a dedicated fin pouch, rolling wheels, and well-padded handles and straps.

HOW TO CHOOSE THE BEST TWO PERSON PADDLE BOARD

MAX LOAD CAPACITY

The board max weight capacity should include the total weight of everything you will bring with you, including your body weight.

As long you get near the max load capacity of the board, you get less and less performance and stablity.

KAYAK ADAPTABILITY

The 2-person paddle boards that can be converted to a kayak are ideal if one or both of the paddlers are still learning or want from time to time rest while still paddling to their destination.

ACCESSORIES

The accessories that come included with the package are important because the more accessories you get with the board the fewer additional purchases you have to make.

The best 2-person paddle board is one that comes with a dual-chamber triple-action hand pump, two lightweight paddles, two ankle leashes, different-size fins and a repair kit.
